This guide shows you how to manage your product pricing in Programa's Schedule, from entering retail and trade prices to calculating markups and client discounts.
Adding retail and trade pricing
Within your Schedule, click Financial in the top schedule toolbar to open the financial view
Type the RRP (MSRP) of the product into the field provided (if applicable)
Type the Trade Price into the field provided (if applicable)
Add the Quantity to calculate the total product cost.
Your schedule will automatically calculate the percentage trade discount and total product cost based on the nominated quantity.
This works both ways - you can also enter your RRP and trade discount percentage, and Programa will automatically calculate your trade price and total product cost.
Note: Programa doesn't stipulate whether pricing is tax inclusive or exclusive, as users have different preferences. Choose your approach and note it when sending pricing to clients.
You can also set up your tax rates directly through the platform - learn more about this process here.
Calculating markups and client discounts
You can add your markup percentage to each product line within your schedule, and this will automatically be reflected in your client pricing and discounts.
Within your Schedule, click Financial in the top schedule toolbar to open the financial view
Toggle on the Add Mark-up toggle to the top right of your schedule—this will surface extra calculation fields
Enter your markup percentage, which will automatically calculate your client savings field, total client price, and profit
The calculations work in multiple ways. You can:
Enter a markup percentage to calculate client savings, client price, and profit
Enter a total client savings percentage to calculate markup and client price
Enter a final client price to calculate all other relevant fields
Important: Turning on the Add Mark-up toggle changes what clients can see.
With it enabled, clients will only see the Unit RRP, percentage client savings, and total client price - your markup percentages and trade pricing remain hidden.
Without it enabled, clients can view both your trade price and retail price.
