Self-diagnosis and troubleshooting

We want your Programa journey to be as smooth and seamless as possible, and we have a team dedicated to making sure our platform is exceptionally stable, and performance is reliable.

With this in mind, it's important to understand if external factors are interfering with your experience, or if the platform requires some attention.

Here we'll run you through some quick tips and tricks to help overcome any performance issues you're seeing.

Slowness and glitching

Occasionally, we hear reports of:

  • Actions taking too long

  • Pages not loading

  • Buttons not working

  • Glitches in the platform

Before we launch an investigation, it's good to understand first if the issue lies on your system. So here are some things you can check to ensure optimal performance:

Check your network connection and internet speed

Sometimes the root cause of performance issues is bad internet. First thing's first - check your Wi-Fi connection and internet speed for any issues.

Clear your cache and cookies

Information can occasionally get stuck in your browser, clog your performance, and slow you down. It's good to have a clean out every now and then!

Disable browser extensions

Some extensions can interfere with the functionality of web apps, as they generally track your movements, which can affect your performance. Try disabling them while you finish what you're doing, and enable them again after.
​Note: the Programa Web Clipper is designed to work with our platform, so this shouldn't cause you any issues.

Close unused tabs, windows, and apps

Anything currently unused, that you have running in the background could be using precious processing power on your device. Try closing it for now, and you may see an increase in speed and performance.

Try an incognito browser window, or an alternative browser

It's good to check if the browser or window you're using is having trouble. Check that you're on the current version of your browser, and update if not.

Hot tip: If an incognito or alternative browser performs better, the issue lies on the one you were using. Check through the above tips to rectify this.

Do a hard refresh

We're always updating our platform to make sure you get the best experience from Programa. You may need to refresh your browser to ensure you're working in the latest version.

  • Mac: Hold down the Shift key and click the Refresh button. Or, hold down the Cmd (Command) key + Shift + the R key.

  • Windows: Hold down Ctrl and ⇧ Shift and then press R. Or, hold the Ctrl key and press the F5 key.

Update your browser

We're always updating our platform, and so to ensure you're getting the best experience - we recommend regularly updating and relaunching your browser, to ensure you're on the latest version.

Check your VPN settings

VPNs are great for security, but may also be blocking pop-ups or redirects.
Check your settings to ensure there's nothing preventing certain functions in Programa from working as expected.

Login issues

Having trouble logging in?

Make sure you're using the email address you signed up with.

If you're using Google, Facebook, or Xero to sign in, the email address used for these accounts needs to match the email address used for your Programa account.

Forgot your password? At the Programa Login page, click on 'Forgot password?' to receive a password reset email.

Haven't received your password reset email? The may have landed in your junk/spam folder.

New to Programa, or updated your email recently? Your email address may not be verified.

You should have received an email asking you to confirm your email address.

If the link in this email has expired, head here now, and enter your email address to complete this step.

Missing content

Not seeing the content you're expecting?

Restricted access could be the issue

Ask an account Admin or Owner to update your role for you if you required. For reference:

  • Owners have access to the entire Programa account including organisation settings, billing, people settings, team time entries and all projects.

  • Admins have access to organisation settings, people settings, team time entries and all projects.

  • Designers have access to personal settings, projects they have been assigned to and their personal time entries.

You may not have been added to Project or Task
