Add labels to organise products around your studio’s work. For example, Builder Supplied identifies who supplies an item. Requires Shop Drawings identifies products that need drawings. You can add several labels to one product.
Choose between categories, locations and labels
Use | To record | Example |
Category | The product type and its specification fields. | Pendant light. |
Location | Where the product goes and the quantity needed in each place. | Study: four chairs. |
Label | Details your studio uses to organise or find products. | Builder Supplied. |
1. Add labels to products
To label one product:
Open the product details and find Product labels.
Select Add label.
Select an existing label or create a new label.
Add any other labels the product needs.
To label several products at once, select their checkboxes. Select Actions → Add product labels, then choose the labels to add.
2. Group or filter products by label
To show products under label headings:
Open Display options → Grouping.
Select Label.
Select the dropdown arrow beside your schedule name, then choose Save as new schedule to keep the arrangement as a new schedule, or Save to update the existing schedule.
Each product appears under the headings for its labels. If you add a label to another product in the schedule, it appears under that heading automatically.
To show only products with a specific label, select it under Filter → Label.
3. Manage labels and label groups
Open Project Settings → Product Labels to create, rename or delete labels. Each label belongs to the current project. Each name must be unique within that project.
When you duplicate a project, you can copy its labels, locations, saved schedules and statuses.
If the label list is long, organise the labels into groups:
Select Create group. Enter a name for the group.
Select the checkboxes for the labels you want to group.
Select Move to group, then select the group.
Groups organise the label list only. You apply labels to products, not groups. If you delete a group, its labels become ungrouped. The labels stay on their products.
Choose useful labels for your studio
Choose labels that help your team find information or check what needs to happen next. For example:
Budget / Cost: Prime Cost, Estimated Cost, Over Budget, Cost Saving Alt, Value Engineered, Premium / Feature Item.
Responsibility / Supply: Designer Supplied, Builder Supplied, Client Supplied, Nominated Supplier, Contractor Installed.
Custom / Bespoke vs Off-the-Shelf: Custom / Bespoke, Off-the-Shelf, Requires Shop Drawings, Sample Requested, Sample Approved.
Start with a few useful labels. Add more as your project develops.
