How to pin products from your schedule

Written by Gail Esterhuyse

Product pins are the heart of Presentations. They let you drop a small blue dot onto a floor plan, render, or any image to mark where a specified product lives β€” and they stay live-linked to your schedule, so when product details change, your presentation reflects them automatically.

A pin isn't a picture or a copy of product details. It's the actual product from your schedule, embedded on the page. Hover over the pin and your client sees the live name, code, supplier, finish, status, and price. Edit the product from the pin and the schedule updates!

How to pin a product

You can pin a product anywhere on a page β€” directly onto an image (floor plan, elevation, render, photograph) or onto blank page space.

If you pin onto an image, the pin anchors to that image: when you move, resize, or rotate the image, the pin moves with it. You can still drag the pin freely to a new position whenever you like.

  1. Make sure the product is already in a schedule in this project. You can only pin products that exist in a schedule.

  2. Click Pin in the Command Bar β†’ Product.

  3. The Schedules Panel from your project opens on the right. Pick the schedule, then the product.

  4. Click Pin β€” or click the product's image in the panel (either works).

  5. Click the spot on the page where you want the pin to go.

  6. The pin appears as a small blue dot. Hover it to confirm.

πŸ’‘ Tip β€” you can pin the same product in multiple places (e.g. a chair on a floor plan and again in a room render). They all share the same product details and update together.

How to find a product to Pin

Use the filter icon at the top of the Schedules Panel to filter your schedule by section, status, brand, or supplier. Or type in the search field to filter by product name or code.

How to cancel out of pin mode

Press Esc at any time to exit pin mode without placing a pin.

How to view a product's details from a pin

  • Hover a pin to see a tooltip with the product image, name, doc code, manufacturer, section, and current status.

  • Click a pin to keep the tooltip open.

  • Click Details to open the full Product Details side panel β€” the same panel as in your schedule.

How to edit a product's details from a pin

The Product Details panel that opens from a pin is the same panel as in your schedule.

  1. Click the pin β†’ Details in the tooltip.

  2. Edit any field: quantity, finish, status, supplier, price, lead time, notes, links.

  3. Changes save automatically.

Useful in client meetings β€” if a client asks about lead time, or wants to approve a product on the spot, you can update it without leaving the presentation. Changes a teammate makes in the schedule appear on the pin next time you open the presentation.

How to move a pin

Click the pin to select it, then drag it to its new position on the image. To move a pin to a different page, delete it from the first page and re-pin the product.

How to delete a pin

Click the pin β†’ right-click β†’ Delete

Deleting a pin only removes it from that position in the presentation. The product stays in your schedule β€” you can re-pin it anywhere any time.

πŸ’‘ Tip β€” if you want the product gone from the project entirely, delete it from your schedule. That removes every pin for that product across every presentation.

Why pins update automatically (two-way sync)

A pin points to the actual product in your schedule, not a copy of it.

  • Change a product in the schedule β†’ every pin for that product updates automatically.

  • Change product details from a pin β†’ the schedule updates straight away.

  • A teammate changes the schedule β†’ you see the change on the pin next time you open the presentation.

So your client always sees the current product info, not yesterday's version.

What happens to pins if you delete a product from your schedule

If a product is deleted from a schedule, every pin for that product β€” across every presentation in the project β€” is automatically removed. No orphaned pins.

If a pin disappears unexpectedly, check whether the product was deleted or archived in its schedule.
