Troubleshooting and getting help in Programa

Fix slow loading, login errors, and missing content with these troubleshooting steps.

Programa is built for stability and reliability, but sometimes external factors can interfere with your experience. This guide helps you identify and resolve common performance and access issues.


Resolving slowness and glitching

If you're experiencing slow loading times, unresponsive buttons, or platform glitches, the issue is often browser or system-related. Try these steps in order:

  1. Disable unnecessary browser extensions:
    Extensions like ad blockers, password managers, and grammar tools can slow down web apps. Temporarily disable non-essential extensions and reload Programa.

  2. Close heavy browser tabs and memory-intensive apps:
    Too many open tabs (email, docs, dashboards) or other apps (Teams, Slack, Zoom) can overwhelm your system. Close unused tabs and quit large applications before refreshing Programa.

  3. Try an Incognito or private browsing window:
    Incognito mode disables most extensions and bypasses cache issues. If Programa runs faster in Incognito, the problem is likely extensions, cache, or a corrupted browser profile.

  4. Restart your computer:
    A restart clears memory pressure and background processes that build up over time, especially if your machine has been running for days.

  5. Update your browser and operating system:
    Outdated browsers can struggle with complex web apps. Keep both your browser and OS updated for optimal performance.

  6. Test in a different browser:
    Try Programa in Chrome or Edge to determine if the issue is browser-specific.

  7. Check your internet connection:
    Poor Wi-Fi or slow internet speeds can cause performance issues. Test your connection speed and stability.

  8. Clear your cache and cookies:
    Cached data can occasionally cause conflicts. Clear your browser's cache and cookies:

    To clear your cache and cookies:

    • Open your browser's settings

    • Go to "Privacy and security" or "Clear browsing data,"

    • Select "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files,"

    • Choose a time range (like "All time"), and click "Clear data".

    A keyboard shortcut, Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (Mac), will also bring up the "Clear browsing data" menu in most browsers.

  9. Do a hard refresh:
    Force your browser to load the latest version of Programa:

    • Mac: Hold Shift and click Refresh, or press Cmd + Shift + R

    • Windows: Hold Ctrl + Shift and press R, or press Ctrl + F5

  10. Check your VPN settings:
    VPNs can block pop-ups or redirects. Verify your VPN isn't preventing Programa features from working properly.

Resolving login issues

  1. Check your email address: Make sure you're using the email address you originally signed up with.

    • Using social login? If you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Xero, the email address for that account must match your Programa email address.

  2. Reset your password

    • Click Forgot password?

    • Check your inbox (and spam/junk folder) for the reset email

  3. Verify your email address: New accounts or recently updated email addresses
    need verification. If your verification link expired:


Finding missing content

If you can't see projects, tasks, or other content you're expecting, check these common causes:

  1. Verify your account permissions. Your role determines what you can access:

    • Owners: Full account access including settings, billing, people, team time entries, and all projects

    • Admins: Access to organization settings, people settings, team time entries, and all projects

    • Designers: Access to personal settings, assigned projects, and personal time entries only

    • Ask an account Owner or Admin to update your role if needed.

  2. Check project and task assignments: You may not have been added to the specific project or task:
