Programa doesn't ship pre-made templates β every new presentation starts blank. But you can build your own template library by setting up reusable presentations in a dedicated project and copying them into a new client project whenever you start a new job.
This article walks through how to set up a templates library, what kinds of presentations work well as templates, and how to use one when starting a new project.
How to set up a templates library
1. Create a "Studio Templates" project
Make a new project in Programa called something like Studio Templates or Template Library. This project is internal-only β you won't share it with clients. It just holds your reusable presentations.
2. Build template presentations inside it
Inside the templates project, create one presentation for each kind of template you want to reuse. For example:
Concept presentation template
Design development template
Documentation pack template
Cover page template
Build each one the way you want it to land in a new project β your studio fonts, brand layout, standard scope-of-works structure, whatever you reuse on every job.
π‘ Tip β name your template presentations clearly, like "Template β Concept Presentation", so you can spot them at a glance when copying.
3. Use placeholders for client-specific content
Since the same template will be reused across many projects, leave placeholders where project-specific content goes:
"[Client name]" on the cover page.
"[Project address]" in headers.
Leave gaps where pinned products will go (you'll pin from the new project's schedule once the template is copied across).
When you copy the template into a new project, find and replace the placeholders with the real client info.
What kinds of presentations work well as templates
Things most studios end up templating:
Cover page with studio branding, client name placeholder, and date.
Scope of works page with a standard layout for project introductions.
Documentation pack for handing off to builders and trades β title page, plan layout, elevation references.
Mood board page with a consistent grid and typography.
End / contact page with your studio's contact details and brand assets.
How to use a template in a new project
Open your Studio Templates project and navigate to the template presentation you want to use.
Click the three dots menu at the top right of the page.
Select Copy to.
Choose the destination project (the new client project).
The whole template is copied across as a new presentation in the destination project.
Once it's there:
Rename the copied presentation to match your client (e.g. "Smith Residence β Concept Presentation").
Replace the placeholder text with the project's real info.
Pin products from the new project's schedule (templates don't carry product pins across β see How to manage pages and presentations for the full detail).
Swap in any client-specific images.
How to keep your templates current
When you build a layout improvement on a real client project, copy the improved version back to your templates library so future projects benefit.
Review your templates library every few months. Studios' branding, scope-of-works language, and standard documentation tend to evolve faster than templates do β keep them in step.
